Partners In Health rise to the challenge

Twelve team members from Partners In Health left Sydney on Friday morning, the 5th October at 9am and set off on the long, hot and windy journey to Goulburn, the first leg of the Lifeline Challenge. The youngest team rider being 22 and the oldest 60. None of the riders had ever ridden the distances of 144 km to Goulburn and 100km to Canberra the next day. Four of the team were very new to road cycling and were relying on the training both inside the gym and out on our training rides. All of the team had the willingness to give it a go and the courage to tackle something that was a huge physical effort in order to raise money for such a worthwhile cause, Lifeline. We have raised over $10,000.

Our oldest cyclist has had bi-lateral knee replacements, another had knee surgery this year and one flew over from Perth to participate. As the founder of Partners In Health, it has been a wonderful experience to see this group of people develop their fitness and health and confidence in their physical ability. That is the core philosophy behind Partners In Health -  that anyone can be proactive in improving their fitness and health. We do this not to be ‘gym fit’ but rather to be able to enjoy the benefits of fitness and mobility.
