Helping all Australians stay active for life.

Heart Foundation Heartmoves is a gentle physical activity program suitable for anyone who hasn't done any exercise in a while. You can exercise at your own pace in a friendly atmosphere. Partners in Health accredited exercise professionals run Heartmoves classes. Our trained staff are specifically trained in managing safe, low intensity physical activity programs. Our staff also have over eighteen years experience in delivering suitable exercise for those living with chronic illness and movement disorders. Heartmoves is open to everyone and is designed to be safe for people
with stable long term health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or obesity.

Heartmoves can help

  • lower blood pressure
  • improve cholesterol control
  • manage weight
  • manage diabetes
  • improve balance and flexibility
  • improve sleep
  • improve bone mineral density with arthritis management
  • prevent falls and injuries from falls

Exercises can be adapted for those with special needs or done in a chair.

  1. wear comfortable casual clothing
  2. wear well fitting shoes
  3. bring a bottle and towel
  4. bring any medications you might need whilst exercising
